The winning WTC plan is not only taller than the twin towers, At 1,776 feet tall, it’ll be the tallest building in the world” From CNN: [Winning architect Daniel] Libeskind says that having calculated the arc of the sun, a wedge of natural light would funnel visitors to the memorial site, and that every September 11 between 8:46 a.m., when the first tower was struck by a plane, and 10:28 a.m., when the second tower collapsed, no shadows will be cast by his buildings.

I went to my favorite beach this evening to try to capture the sunset. The thermometer in the car said it was 58° F, but there was a strong wind blowing in from the bay and it felt really cold. Even though it was getting dark, I decided to get out and take some pictures because it was low tide. The tidepools were full of hermit crabs and I finally got to see the sea star that’s usually underwater.
When I was leaving, I saw a pair of Canadian geese land up on the rocks at the top of the stairs. I snapped a couple of pictures, which didn’t turn out well since it was really getting dark and the geese wouldn’t hold still. Less than a minute later, the geese flew off towards the ocean honking like crazy. I looked up at the rocks where the geese had been and saw a beautiful red fox looking very disappointed that he had missed out on such a nice meal. Below is my picture of the geese (top) and fox (bottom). Sorry for the crappy quality.

Jethro Tull – Thick as a Brick, 1972.
Jethro Tull – Thick As A Brick Lyrics
Really don’t mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper — your deafness a SHOUT.
I may make you feel but I can’t make you think.
Your sperm’s in the gutter — your love’s in the sink.
So you ride yourselves over the fields and
you make all your animal deals and
your wise men don’t know how it feels to be thick as a brick.
And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away
in the tidal destruction, the moral melee.
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
as the last wave uncovers the newfangled way.
But your new shoes are worn at the heels and
your suntan does rapidly peel and
your wise men don’t know how it feels to be thick as a brick.
And the love that I feel is so far away:
I’m a bad dream that I just had today
and you shake your head and say it’s a shame.
Spin me back down the years and the days of my youth.
Draw the lace and black curtains and shut out the whole truth.
Spin me down the long ages: let them sing the song.
See there! A son is born — and we pronounce him fit to fight.
There are black-heads on his shoulders, and he pees himself in the night.
We’ll make a man of him, put him to trade
teach him to play Monopoly and how to sing in the rain.
The Poet and the painter casting shadows on the water –
as the sun plays on the infantry returning from the sea.
The do-er and the thinker: no allowance for the other –
as the failing light illuminates the mercenary’s creed.

Looking to enjoy a smooth Trader Vic’s Piña Colada but can’t find a convenient branch location near to your home? No need to lose hope! Now you can be just like Dick Cheney, albeit minus the perfect hair. Recipe courtesy of the Trader Vic’s website. Notice that they still expect you to make use of their official products.
Can’t win them all, I suppose.
Piña Colada
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Trader Vic’s KO-KO Kreme Syrup
2 oz. Trader Vic’s Premium Gold Rum
To a blender with 1 cup crushed ice add the above ingredients. Blend until mixed. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with pineapple spear or slice. For an extra creamy drink with a distinctive flavor, add ice cream; vanilla, chocolate, coffee, etc. Substitute the ice cream for the rum to create a refreshing non-alcoholic drink.

Number Six was at a press conference the other day. This footage was edited out of the broadcast and the attendees were paid to keep silent about the incident. The truth has finally been revealed…
So, you saw Dick Cheney with a Chinese menu in his hand looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook’s? Well, I saw Dick Cheney walking with the Queen in London. Then I saw them drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic’s. Dick’s hair was perfect.

This-or-That Tuesday: Breakfast
1. Bacon or sausage? Bacon!!! I hate sausage. I always think I can smell the animal fur in it. ![]()
2. Eggs: scrambled or not? Scrambled and fried. I like my fried eggs well cooked, though…and I prefer the whites to the yolk.
3. French toast or regular toast? Both!
4. Pancakes or waffles? Both!
5. Muffins or bagels? Muffins.
6. Coffee or tea? I’m a coffee fiend. I do like tea, but I definitely prefer coffee.
7. Juice: orange or grapefruit? Orange juice. Grapefruit? Yuck.
8. Hot or cold cereal? I like hot cereal if I can add lots of brown sugar and butter. Otherwise, I prefer cold cereal…especially Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yum!!!
9. To put in cereal: bananas or strawberries (or some other fruit)? Sometimes I like to put bananas in my cereal.
10. Eat breakfast at home or at a restaurant? Mostly at home…unless it’s at Margie’s!!!
