Spammers strike again! It’s usually just ridiculous subject lines, such as the one above, and products I’d never buy. Now they seem to be sending the Mydoom (W32/Mydoom@MM) virus. I’ve gotten at least four infected e-mails in the past few days. Fortunately, keeping your virus protection up-to-date seems to be the best course of defense. And, of course y’all know not to open/run/save any attachments that seem iffy, even if it’s from someone you know.
My dad received an e-mail from my mom that had a bogus “from” field, meaning it wasn’t really from her. He downloaded the attachment without even thinking about it. It struck him later that it might have been something unusual, and sure enough.. it was the W32/Bagle@MM. If you suspect you may have a virus, you can download McAfee’s Stinger tool, which will scan your system for viruses and remove them if present. I’m sure there are other utilities available if you’re not a fan of McAfee.

Jeebus, I just got another one. The second from supremeoverlord@galaxy.com. I wonder if it might be Gov. Ahnuld behind all of this.
I got this little gem in my mail early on in all of this. Being smart enough not to open attachments is always a plus.
