Hodad’s Burgers
PW's Fancy Macaroni
Pioneer Woman‘s Fancy Macaroni is so incredibly good. I used grated Gruyere, Swiss, and Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese. I also threw in some shredded Cheddar/Jack because I ran out of Chevre, which I used last time. PW says to serve it as a side dish, but it’s so rich and filling that a small bowl of it is enough of a meal for me!

Hodad’s
Our first night in San Diego, we went to Hodad’s at Ocean Beach. When they say they have the “World’s Best Burgers” they are not kidding. They’re also the biggest burgers I’ve ever seen.
I’d recommend the super delicious bacon cheeseburger with fries. Actually, I was too full to even eat one fry. You’ve gotta have a really big mouth to eat one of these burgers!
Instead of whipped cream, they top off their milkshakes with about a pint of ice cream! Strawberry shakes are usually either too sweet or not sweet enough, but Hodad’s got it just right.

Bacon Guacamole Burger
Made with grass-fed, hormone-free ground up bovine, Niman Ranch Uncured Applewood-Smoked Bacon, and homemade guacamole!
Guacamole
1 shallot, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 – 1 jalapeño pepper (seeded), finely chopped
1 Roma (plum) tomato, diced
2 ripe avocados, diced
juice of 1 fresh lime
salt & pepper to taste (if needed)
Mix everything together, and enjoy!
