Back in the time of VCRs and video rentals, we thought this scene from Airplane II was so funny that we watched it over and over again, laughing uncontrollably. That’s a lot of rewinding. My Dad thought it was so funny that he tape recorded it so we could listen to it over and over and over. You know, since we had to return the rented video cassette. Ah, the good old days.

My grandma married Doc after she left my grandpa. He was a cantankerous old coot, but I liked him anyway. My favorite thing to do was to try to make him laugh. He used to sit at the dinner table and aggravate my mom by spewing outrageous racist crap. He also thought it was funny to see her turn red if she had a glass of wine and teased her mercilessly. What a mean old man*.
