Buddy Holly recorded “Well… All Right” in 1958. It was the B Side of single, “Heartbeat.”

Blind Faith released their cover, “Well All Right” on their self-titled album in 1969.

Albert Hammond, Jr. released his cover of “Well…All Right” on his debut album, Yours to Keep in 2006. Pretty awesome. (Thanks, Mary!)

Lord Darnell’s wife came into the church

“Well, get up! Get up!” Lord Darnell cried

I slew a naked man”

For you have two long beaten swords
And I have but a pocket knife”

“Well it’s true I have two beaten swords
And they cost me deep in the purse.
But you will have the better of them
And I will have the worse

“And you will strike the very first blow
And strike it like a man!
I will strike the very next blow
And I’ll kill you if I can”

So Matty struck the very first blow
And he hurt Lord Darnell sore.
Lord Darnell struck the very next blow
And Matty struck no more.

And then Lord Darnell he took his wife
And he sat her on his knee
Saying, “Who do you like the best of us,
Matty Groves or me?”

And then up spoke his own dear wife,
Never heard to speak so free
“I’d rather a kiss from dead Matty’s lips
Than you or your finery”

Lord Darnell he jumped up
And loudly he did bawl
He struck his wife right through the heart
And pinned her against the wall

“A grave, a grave!” Lord Darnell cried
“To put these lovers in!
But bury my lady at the top
For she was of noble kin.”

I think it’s pretty obvious that I love music. I have so many ‘favorites’ from so many different genres that it would be almost impossible to choose just one. A few that immediately come to mind are:

Blue Cheer – Peace of Mind
Iron Butterfly – In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Bread – Everything I Own
Cat Stevens – Trouble

I’m going to go ahead and post White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane for today’s song. I heard it in Supernatural last night, which reminded me that I’d been meaning to post it. So many cultural references – The Matrix, Alice in Wonderland, Lost, etc.

Mirrors have always been featured prominently in Lost. In Season 6, Episode 5: The Lighthouse we see a Who poster (I think – see images below) in Jack’s son David’s room. We saw Jack’s childhood home in the lighthouse mirrors and then we saw Jack smash the mirrors. Since I love The Who, I’m posting a couple of possibly relevant songs from Tommy.
